Turned Edge Machine Applique

Monday, October 30 and Wednesday, November 1 - SORRY, BOTH CLASSES FULL

No fusing. No glue. No satin stitch. No kidding. This class features an adaptation of my hand-applique technique, pre-turning the fabrics seam allowances on freezer paper templates, then stitching the edges down using the blind hem stitch on a domestic sewing machine. The results are beautiful and, yes, you'll have your picnic block completed by the end of the day.

Yes, You Can Stipple!

This is a FUN class for beginners intimidated by the thought of machine quilting. Through a series of lessons using specific fabric and batting 'sandwiches' – each created to build your confidence – you'll be able to say "Yes, I Can Stipple!" and a whole lot more! HandiQuilter is providing the classroom with Sweet Sixteen sit-down quilting machines - one per student! The techniques used can be applied to your domestic home machine.

Students only need bring a pencil and paper for notetaking. HandiQuilter is providing the classroom with Sweet Sixteen sit-down quilting machines - one per student! Simple Pictorial Hand Applique

Friday, Nov. 4 - CLASS OPEN

In this class I'll cover my layered hand-applique technique which uses freezer paper templates and pre-turned seam allowances to create pictorial works. The kits for the class include the pattern with full-color instructions, freezer paper templates, pre-washed fabrics for the complete project, tracing paper - nearly everything you need.

Floral Applique

Saturday, Nov. 5 - CLASS OPEN

This class is quite similar in scope to my pictorial hand applique workshop. A greater emphasis will be on demonstrating my unique pattern drawing style, and fussy cutting fabric for a dramatic, realistic effect. I'm thrilled to present my new 'flowers of the month' patterns at this workshop - daffodil, sweet pea, lily of the valley and rose. The kits for the class include the pattern with full-color instructions, freezer paper templates, pre-washed fabrics for the complete project, and tracing paper.

Artistry through Applique

Sunday, Nov. 6 - Lecture/demo - SPACE AVAILABLE!

In this three-hour lecture/demo class, I'll be presenting a digital slide show of the process I use to create my award-winning pictorial applique art quilts. A three-hour lecture, you may ask? Yes, but I'll take a few short breaks from talking, and remember - time flies when you're having fun! Cameras and notetaking welcome.
