MISA West 2019 Workshop Retreat in Santa Fe, New Mexico

For this workshop, I am providing my exclusive, complimentary "hummingbird" applique pattern to the class. I've including some examples to demonstrate the possibilities this project provides in terms of fabric choices. If you wish to work on your own applique project or are interested in continuing to work on a project from one of my previous pictorial applique workshops, please contact me and we can set individual workshop goals for you. The Santa Fe environment should provide plenty of inspiration.

I'll be providing full-size patterns, which can be downloaded from my website and printed on a large-scale copier or tiled using Adobe Acrobat PDF Reader. If you'd prefer to have the pattern available at the workshop, I'll be happy to bring one for you to the classroom. The approximate size of the pattern is 24" x 36". However, I'm happy to accommodate a larger or small size, based on your preference. It is strongly suggested you research different types of hummingbirds and choose a specific color palette. (Or throw caution to the wind and create your own!) Be open to possibilities!

The key to my work is not how MUCH fabric I use in each quilt, it’s about how MANY fabrics I use. Choose a few dozen fabrics from your stash in colors similar to those in your inspiration image.

LODGING AT THE HILTON SANTA FE

The Hilton Santa Fe Historic Plaza is host to MISAWest workshops. The Plaza is a National Historic Landmark and the heart of Santa Fe. Native American, Mexican, and Spanish cultural events are hosted here, including music, jewelry, art, and dance. The Canyon Road art district offers over 100 galleries and artists’ studios, and steps away from the Georgia O'Keeffe Museum. Luxury accommodations and a light-filled studio space celebrate the authentic Southwestern style and culture of New Mexico.
