Turned Edge Machine Applique: Sweet Pea

Thursday, June 21 | Class #116 | SORRY, CLASS FULL

No fusing. No glue. No satin stitch. No kidding. This class features an adaptation of my hand-applique technique, pre-turning the fabrics seam allowances on freezer paper templates, then stitching the edges down using the blind hem stitch on a domestic sewing machine. The results are beautiful and, yes, you'll have your Sweet Pea block completed by the end of the day. Kit required ($30) and includes pre-washed fabrics, pattern, freezer paper templates and more! See the pattern here: SWEET PEA.

Santa Fe Stonework – Precision Piecing Workshop

Friday, June 22 | Class #219

This is a project class for learning precision machine piecing on a domestic sewing machine. I encourage students to supply their own PRE-WASHED fabrics. (Remember you don't need lots of YARDAGE, it's only an 18-inch block!)

Download a color chart to help with your fabric choices: Precision Piecing Chart

If you are unsure of your color choices, bring more than what is required and I'll be happy to assist with selections. If you are interested in purchasing a PRE-WASHED fabric 'kit' for the workshop, I will have plenty for everyone. The pattern fee is $10 USD; a pre-washed, pre-cut fabric kit is an additional $20.

Yes, You Can Stipple!

Saturday, June 23 | Class #320

This is a FUN and fast-paced class for beginners intimidated by the thought of machine quilting. Through a series of lessons using specific fabric and batting 'sandwiches' – each created to build your confidence – you'll be able to say "Yes, I Can Stipple!" and a whole lot more! Students will learn how to find their own rhythm without a stitch regulator. We'll discusses thread types, tension, and burying thread ends. The techniques used can be applied to your own domestic home machine.
